TICKETS have just gone on sale for Craig Revel Horwood's return to The Watermill in Newbury to direct Sunset Boulevard.
Following sell-out productions of Hot Mikado and Martin Guerre, the same creative team come together again for this actor-musician production, which runs from July 9 until August 30.
In her mansion on Sunset Boulevard, faded silent-screen goddess Norma Desmond (Kathryn Evans) lives in a fantasy world. Impoverished screenwriter Joe Gillis, on the run from debt collectors, stumbles into her reclusive world.
Persuaded to work on Norma's masterpiece', a film script that she believes will put her back in front of the cameras, he is seduced by her and her luxurious life-style.
Joe becomes entrapped in a claustrophobic world until his love for another woman leads him to try and break free with dramatic consequences.
Initial group reservations at the venue are reaching almost record-breaking levels, so early booking is strongly advised.
Kathryn, the wife of Blue Peter legend Peter Purves, trained at the Royal Ballet School and made her stage debut aged 11 at Covent Garden in Nureyev's Nutcracker.
She has appeared in Sing For Your Supper on both stage and radio, and has performed lead roles in London in Peter Pan, Follies and Evita.
