VISITORS to Basing House can enter stage left in an interactive interpretation of one of Shakespeare’s most loved plays.

In celebration of Shakespeare Week, families and visitors can plan, produce and perform their very own production of The Tempest this Saturday March 22.

Professional storyteller, actor and poet, Chris Bennett will lead them through the performance with the atmospheric settings of the Tudor ruins to inspire them.

All they need to do is book a place in advance and they can be centre stage.

Children can flex the creative minds and design their own costumes and props.

The Tempest tells the story of Prospero, the rightful Duke of Milan, and his plot to restore his family's title using magic, mischief, and monsters.

Set on a mysterious island, the tale of shipwreck will be brought to life by Chris' unique storytelling twists.

The event, is from 11.30am to 3.30pm, and is suitable for children aged over seven.
