LOCAL cinema audiences will have the opportunity to watch Mark Strong lead the cast in Ivo Van Hove’s five star Young Vic production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge.
Arthur Miller confronts the American dream in this dark and passionate tale. In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom.
But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.
The production will be broadcast from Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End on Thursday, March 26 at 7pm as part of National Theatre Live.
Screenings will take place in Basingstoke's Odeon and Vue cinemas.
Mark Strong, who leads the cast as Eddie Carbone, is joined by Emun Elliott as Marco, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Richard Hansell as Louis, Luke Norris as Rodolpho and Nicola Walker as Beatrice.
A View from the Bridge recently received seven 2015 Olivier Award nominations - Best Revival, Best Director (Ivo van Hove), Best Actor (Mark Strong), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Phoebe Fox), XL Video Award for Best Set Design (Jan Versweyveld), White Light Award for Best Lighting Design (Jan Versweyveld) and Best Sound Design (Tom Gibbons).
This is the Young Vic’s second collaboration with NT Live.
