FLYING Pizza Theatre will bring Charles Dickens’ much-loved classic story of the astonishing transformation of the miser Scrooge to Basingstoke this month.

Set by the family hearths, in the dark alleys and snow-lined streets of Victorian London, this powerful and poignant story has a message for us today.

It is Christmas Eve and Scrooge, having sent the carol singers packing, sits over a miserly fire, squeezing the last ounce of work from his clerk.

Finally he goes home, cursing the festive season. But something strange is about to happen to him. His black door knocker starts to have a life of its own and just when he is comfy in bed, a door bangs.

What could possibly change such a man? Find out when you join us for a thrilling, humorous and delightfully haunting theatrical adventure!

Flying Pizza Theatre Company was set up in 1996 by Mark Wastell and Sandy Campbell to provide inspiring, high quality live theatre for children.

Using skilled professional actors and their own creative design team, they adapt classic children's stories for schools and theatres in fresh and imaginative ways.

The company brings the magic of theatre to audiences with ingenious writing, a host of colourful characters, exciting acting, original music, song, dance, handmade costumes, masks, puppetry and audience participation to create an unforgettable experience for all.

When possible, Flying Pizza use elements of the original text so that children can hear the author's own voice for themselves.

See Scrooge in Central Studio, on the QMC campus, on Saturday, December 20 at 11am.

Tickets are £7 full, £6 for children.
