AND the next star of this year’s Anvil Arts pantomime is... CBeebies’ Katy Ashworth!

Katy will play the Fairy Godmother, opposite Keith Chegwin as Buttons, in the Gazette Newspapers-sponsored production of Cinderella.

The show will run in The Anvil, in Basingstoke, from December 11 until January 4.

Katy, pictured, is well-known to thousands of children and their families across the entire UK and the rest of the world thanks to her presenting work on CBeebies, including one of the channel’s flagship series’ I Can Cook.

The show encourages children under the age of six to get cooking and learn where their food comes from.

In addition, 27 year-old children’s entertainer Katy has become known over the last four years for her daily appearances presenting the links between the shows in the CBeebies house.

As well as her TV work, Katy, who grew up in Yateley, is an accomplished actress, entertainer and singer. She has taken the lead in several pantomimes, performed in front of 8,000 people at Wembley on the CBeebies live tours, presented live I Can Cook shows in Butlins resorts, performed her live one-woman interactive show for children at hundreds of theatres, festivals and other events in the UK and internationally, and she’s currently singing with a 12-piece soul band for kids.

More recently, she has begun writing and illustrating children’s stories.
Katy is a proud new mum to her son Charlie and spends her spare time immersed in her family, friends, music and travel.
