ODIHAM’s Holy Ridiculous Amateur Dramatic Society will stage the musical Return to the Forbidden Planet next month.

Bob Carlton’s show will be directed by Nick Brannam and performances are to take place in Mayhill School in Odiham from March 19 to 22 at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Join Captain Tempest and his fearless crew on a rock ‘n’ roll adventure into hyperspace - and beyond. The smash-hit musical, inspired by the 1956 movie, plays riotous havoc with Shakespeare's The Tempest.

It raids the Bard’s other plays at will (and not always absolutely verbatim) and sets everything to a score of great pop hits from the 1960s and ‘70s, exploding with cosmic classics by The Beach Boys, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many more.

This lively production is packed with rocking red-hot hits including Great Balls of Fire, Good Vibrations, Shake Rattle and Roll, The Monster Mash, Young Girl, Born to be Wild, Gimme some Lovin' and many more.

Young director/choreographer Nick Brannam is well-known in the local amateur dramatic community. His recent achievements include directing and choreographing an acclaimed production of Little Shop of Horrors for BATS in The Haymarket.

Tickets priced £12 each are available from the Odiham Dress Agency, The Opticians, Odiham, or by emailing holyridiculous@ yahoo.co.uk.
