Dannii Minogue has denied rumours that she will be joining this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

There had been speculation about whether the former X Factor judge would be making a comeback on British screens as a contestant on the BBC dance competition, after being approached by TV bosses, reported the Daily Mirror.

But a spokesperson for the 40-year-old told Metro: "Dannii is definitely not taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this year."

Dannii's former boyfriend Kris Smith - the father of her two-year-old son Ethan - revealed that she had been seriously considering the Strictly offer.

"They are very keen to get Dannii on board. She has been mulling it over," he said at a recent event.

Australian star Dannii had been rumoured to return to the next series of The X Factor, taking over from Kelly Rowland, but ITV confirmed in May that she would not rejoin the judging panel, which she left in 2010.

As well as focusing on motherhood, she remains busy as a judge on Australia's Got Talent and her fashion line Project D.
