EXPERIMENTAL rock and hip hop band Archean Soundtrack – led by a talented young Basingstoke man – have made it through to the regional finals of the Live & Unsigned competition.

This major UK event sees thousands of applicants including bands and solo artists, to audition by performing their songs in front of industry professionals.

The top prize up for grabs for the winner includes playing at the 02, getting a music deal, merchandise plus £10,000 in cash.

Archean Soundtrack – Craig Mitchell 23, Roger Parkins 23, Jonny Hopwood 22, Josh Carter 21 and Darren Gosling 22 – will perform at the regional final audition on April 1 at Dingwalls, in Camden.

Craig was born in Basingstoke, and lived with his parents in Kempshott, Brighton Hill and Oakridge. He attended Kempshott Junior School before moving on to Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College and Queen Mary’s College.

After moving to Essex to attend to drama school in 2008, he met some fellow actors and began the band.

Further information is available online at archeansoundtrack.com where you can listen to their music and watch the video for Reach, the single which was released earlier this year.
