Bang Bar
Basingstoke
THE place was packed and with seven bands on the bill, no time was wasted.
The openers were a new metal band from Basingstoke, called Artemis. They blasted away any cobwebs with a spirited Bring me the Horizon-style of metal.
The local group were followed by a Welsh hard-core band called Throwing Knives.
Next up were Tadley’s own horror punks, The Black Heart Orchestra, who despite one of their guitarists being jinxed by technical problems, put in a brilliant performance.
They had a massive following in the crowd, who also got nicely limbered up when the amazing Andover-Basingstoke metal band Ruins of Earth thrashed out their best performance to date.
The genre changed to old school punk for Kicked in from Basingstoke (pictured). The passion, raw energy and sense of fun were undeniable and crowd participation remained very high.
The main support slot went to Basingstoke's number one hard-core band The Plagues who have a superb, tight set of aggressive songs with plenty of audience engagement to ensure that the pot remained on the boil.
Headlining were Reading/High Wycombe favourites Sitty Limits, a garage punk band without equal in terms of material released, shows played and fans they draw.
They blasted out one song after another, exceeding their allotted time to play right up until curfew.
All in all, this was the best live show in Basingstoke for a long time.
