MEMBERS of a choir will sing at Heathrow this Saturday to raise awareness and funds for a chronic pain campaign.
Rock Choir, which has a group in Basingstoke, will perform at Terminal 5 from 11am to 4.30pm in support of UP (Understand Pain).
UP co-founder and Rock Choir leader Georgie Standage, 36, who overcame a severe and rare life long pain condition, said: "Gathering at Heathrow with Rock Choir is a perfect way to bring this important issue to the public. Music can bring about a natural high. It releases endorphins known to hide pain and helps people deal with pains' psychological impact."
Georgie spent two years in a wheelchair after she developed the neurological pain disease, chronic regional pain syndrome, a decade ago, and added: "Rock Choir has been a massive help for me. I feel so exhilarated when I conduct. I run four rehearsals a week and in those moments I hardly notice pain."
UP is designed to raise awareness of the problem of persistent pain.
Money raised on Saturday will fund research into chronic pain conditions, and will also be donated to support groups for sufferers of chronic pain.
