INCREASED levels of exposure has led to a busy few months for local rapper Signal.

Ahead of the release of his latest single ‘All Night’‘All Night’ the Chineham artist has been a guest on both BBC Introducing: South and BBC Radio Berkshire.

Appearing on the shows has meant the 24-year-old has reached a wider audience, which has seen his fan base grow.

Signal, whose real name is Dan Amps, said things have snow balled since the appearances and he is a step closer to achieving his dream.

He told The Gazette: “It has been absolutely crazy.

"It seems like anything you put the BBC branding to people will give it a listen.

“BBC Berkshire asked me to do a freestyle rap for the social media sites and it had something like 4,000 hits, which I wasn’t expecting.

“The feedback and support I have had since the introducing session and the interview on BBC Berkshire has been great and it makes you realise all the work you put in is totally worth it.”

As well as the new single ‘All Night’, the former The Vyne Community School pupil has produced a collaborative freestyle single with American artist Quizzy B.

The work keeps piling up for the man who has shared the stage with the likes of Chipmunk, Kano and Wretch 32, as he gets prepared to play Basingstoke Live an eighth time.

“I absolutely love playing Basingstoke Live,” added the rapper.

“Not just because I get to perform in front of friends and family, but it is a great feeling walking around Festival Place hearing people say that they really enjoyed the set you played.

“Everything that has happened in the last couple of months has been so positive and making doing my dream full-time that little bit closer to being a reality.”

Signal will be performing at Basingstoke Live on either July 9 or 10.
