LOCAL Hampshire music festival Butserfest has enjoyed its ninth successful year.
Around 1,500 young people gathered in Queen Elizabeth Country Park to enjoy the music from bands such as Don Broco, Heck and Funeral For A Friend, plus free fun activities.
Councillor Ferris Cowper, leader of East Hampshire District Council and Butserfest’s founder, said: “We had a smattering of rain in the morning but it wasn’t able to dampen the spirits of the young people on site and the rest of the day was glorious sunshine.
“As a drummer myself, I particularly enjoyed checking out the different styles of bands.
“The crowd is always so enthusiastic and demonstrate that you don’t have to drink alcohol or take drugs to have an amazing music festival experience.
“We’ve already started working on some surprises for next year.”
Butserfest 2016 – the tenth event - will take place on September 10, 2016. Book by midnight on September 22, 2015 and get your 2016 ticket for just £10.
