BASINGSTOKE Male Voice Choir’s (BMVC) annual concert takes place at United Reformed Church, London Street later this month.

The choir celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014 and earlier this year, sang at the funeral of its founder Idris 'Taffy' Roberts.

BMVC now looks forward to a new era and to the next 50 years.

The men travelled to Cornwall earlier in 2015 to perform at the International Male Choirs Festival there.

This year’s annual concert, which takes place on Saturday, July 25 at 7.30pm, is their first performance in Basingstoke since their anniversary.

Music on the night will include many old favourites including hymns, show tunes and some contemporary medleys and arrangements.

BMVC will be conducted by the choir’s musical director Peter Allen and Paul Wright will provide the accompaniment.

Tickets priced £10 are available from Dawsons Music or by calling 01256 327033.

BMVC is actively recruiting new members. Find out more online at basingstokemvc.org.uk.
