LOCAL DJ GaryCee has been working on new blog posts about the Basingstoke music scene.
Gary explained: “It all started because someone asked me how long I’d been DJing and playing in bands around the local scene and when I started thinking about it, I realised that it had been far longer than I realised.
“I am looking back at the bands from the past. It’s a bit of a labour of love really.
“I visited the library to go through The Gazette archives to find pieces on my old band Papa Brittle but it has grown into something bigger now.
“I update it every Monday after a two hour research session at the library. At the moment I have gone from the mid-‘80s and am currently up to 1993.”
Gary added that he has also been influenced by the work of Basingstoke legend Raz Razzle, who has been researching the town's musical past for some years now.
Gary added: “Raz was also a big influence on me when he started looking back to the ‘60s and ‘70s and hopefully, no matter how long it takes, at some point between us we will have covered most things.”
