FILM critic Barry Norman presents Philharmonia at the Movies: Sci-Fi at The Anvil on Sunday, May 24 at 7.45pm.

From the blasting brass of the Star Wars Imperial March to the swell of the strings as E.T. rides through the night sky, music has the ability to make great movie scenes even more powerful.

In this special concert, music from some of the best sci-fi films ever made is performed live in concert by a vast ensemble of musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra.

The programme also includes music from Things To Come, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Back to the Future among many others.

Barry Norman will introduce each piece and guide the audience through the music, as well as share some stories and behind the scenes anecdotes about some of the most exciting films ever to hit the big screen.

Barry said: "This is simply a great evening out - a super orchestra and some of the finest music ever written for the cinema. The presenter's not too intrusive either. I promise you won't be disappointed."
