ECLECTIC East London five-piece Firefly Burning appear in The Forge at The Anvil next week.
The band formed in 2009 and launched onto the London live music scene.
Their debut album Lightships was recorded in 2011. It was created through periods of writing in Cornwall, influenced by the desolate and dramatic coast, and recorded in just four days.
Drawing on strings, guitar, gamelan, bass synthesizer, piano, gongs and voices, their music has echoes of The Beach Boys, Steve Reich and Sufjan Stevens with close vocal harmonies and intricate rhythms.
The band has just completed a bold new album entitled Skeleton Hill, on which they worked with Tim Friese-Greene from seminal band Talk Talk.
Tickets: £13, concessions £11
