A BRAND new music festival is to take place in Tadley in May.

The Tadley Tea Party will take over the Tadley Calleva FC ground, Barlow's Park, on Saturday, May 23 for 12 hours of music, attractions and food and drink stalls.

The main Wonderland stage will be headlined by local boyband Concept and The Hazards, and will also feature Johnny Marvel’s Blues Groove, Caddy Cooper, The Firm and Rob Unique’s School Disco.

The Mad Hatter’s Dance Party will showcase the talents of DJs Roger Moffatt, Joe Vickers, Andy Funkfusion, Jay P, Paul Casey and a special guest.

The festival has been organised by Pete Newton and Jason Nash. The duo were the brains behind mini Wasing woods festival ‘Petefest’, and its success inspired them to think bigger and create the Tadley Tea Party.

Profits from this new event will be put back into the local community.

Jason said: “We have used traditional festival favourites and blended them with modern technology to bring you the first interactive festival ever seen in the area.

“It will hopefully grow year after year, giving local bands and music lovers the opportunity to come together while supporting the local community and charities.

“Giving something back is the most important part of the festival as it means that we can reach out to more people even if they didn’t attend the event. Each year, we’ll decide which local organisation will benefit.”

The 2015 event will support Tadley Calleva FC and the Helping Hands Charity Shop in Franklin Avenue, Tadley.
