FERIO Saxophone Quartet will perform a concert with an Around the World theme at Central Studio tomorrow, December 19 at 7.30pm.

The performance will include music from the Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky and music from Africa, as well as Christmas favourites.

The Ferio Saxophone Quartet, comprising Shevaughaun Beere, Ellie Mcmurrray, Chema Bañuls and Huw Wiggin, are an exciting young chamber ensemble. Its members are graduates from the Royal College of Music.

The quartet was formed with the high aims to widen the horizons of saxophone quartet repertoire, perform established contemporary and classical works, working with new composers, and performing this all to larger audiences.

Since its formation in 2012, Ferio has developed and performed a wide-ranged and varied portfolio of music.

By collaborating with composers to create original concepts, locating lesser known saxophone quartet works and performing the group’s own arrangements of chamber music from other media, the quartet’s objective is to break the mould of a traditional saxophone quartet.

Tickets priced £12.50 are available from feriosax.co.uk.
