Local singer/songwriter Darren Rampton through to Open Mic UK area final
LOCAL singer/songwriter Darren Rampton is through to the area final stage of this year’s Open Mic UK competition.
Darren, who is originally from Whitchurch and now lives in Basingstoke, performed at the regional final in October and was put through on a combination of judges' scores and an audience vote.
He’ll now perform at Ferneham Hall, Fareham on November 29 and success there would mean that he progresses to the Grand Final with the chance to win the backing of respected industry producers, plus professional studio time.
Darren is performing only his own songs in the competition.
In August of this year, he released his debut EP Just in Time, which was recorded and produced at Basingstoke’s Central Studio.
