THE celebrated Sussex Jazz Kings take the stage of Queen Mary’s Hall next month for the next Basingstoke Lions Variety for Charity concert.

The Sussex Jazz Kings are led by Dave Stradwick, the well known player of hot, traditional, jazz trumpet and they’ll come to the QMC hall, Cliddesden Road, on Saturday, August 30 at 7.30pm for 8pm.

Dave’s Jazz Kings are one of the country’s busiest bands, performing all over the UK and abroad playing a mixture of stomps, rags, blues and marches.

These musicians are, without doubt, some of the best exponents of this jazz style playing today.

Their ability is matched by the fun and rapport they build with their audiences.

A great evening is promised and as ever, all money raised at this Lions concert goes straight out to good causes in the community as identified by the local club.

Tickets are priced £12 and are available from Maurice Hockley on 01256 421867 or by emailing mauricehockley@hotmail.com. Alternatively, call John Lincoln on 01256 325280 or pop in to Toucan Travel at Chineham Shopping Centre.

Those who like swing music can also buy tickets at the same price for the final concert of the season on November 29 when The Apollo Big Band come to QMC.

A special discount applies to those attending both shows.
