SUNRISE STAGE

SATURDAY

Basingstoke Gazette:

BEATS n Bars is proud to present the very best that Basingstoke and Hampshire's hip hop and grime scene has to offer.

As always the line up will be fast-paced and almost every performance will include self written bars and self composed beats.

Watch out for Raw Product (1.55pm), a producer-artist duo consisting of Mista Flix aka Tom Jenkyns and Stealf aka Nick Lester. This duo is nothing new in hip hop, but the combination has been missing in the scene, especially in the UK for a while now.

Using his trusty MPC60, Stealf will craft beats for Flix's unique wordplay and lyricism.

Nineteen year-old Royal (5pm), is one of Basingstoke's longest standing and popular MCs. He is also known for being drummer of rock/rap band Kings Of The City. He is a prime example of young talented artists emerging onto the UK music scene.

Waxed 6.15pm - 8.30pm

With long running residencies in Berkshire's underground music venues and a weekly radio show, Waxed has built a reputation for its multi-genre spanning music policy, playing a diverse range of old school classics to future music and everything else between.

Waxed will bring the party atmosphere to the Sunrise Stage at with specially selected residents and guest turntablists mashing up hip hop, house, garage and bass music.

Lyrical D 9.10am-9.50pm

Basingstoke Gazette:

DRUM and bass MC Lyrical D, the creator of Lost in Bass UK, was born and bred in Basingstoke.

He listened to jungle, reggae, hip hop and all kinds of music growing up, and started performing anywhere that had mics. It was harder in those days, and if you got on and stayed on, you were good.

His originality, speed and creation of fluent lyrics when freestyling on the spot are incredibly impressive. His family ties in the DNB scene are his L.I.B. Soldiers / Lost In Bass UK / High3r L3v3l / Sticky and Rave 2 Save UK, a non-profit sister event to L.I.B. UK which raises money for St Michael's Hospice.

Always repping his hometown where he goes, you can catch more of Lyrical D performing across the UK and abroad. You'll be seeing a lot from Lyrical D and Lost In Bass UK in the next few years, pushing the boundaries as usual.

Lost In Bass has grown quickly, expanding to perform in UK venues with a 1500 capacity, and it all started in Basingstoke. It will continue to bring brilliant drum and bass events to audiences, involving some of the biggest brands, and will always push for the best in drum and bass.
