ANVIL Art’s 2014/15 International Concert Series is now on general sale.

Audiences can enjoy a selection of orchestral masterpieces, heard at their best in the acoustics of The Anvil.

The season begins with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on Friday, October 10. Award-winning Kirill Karabits conducts Principal Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Andreas Ottensamer, as he joins the BSO for Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. The evening also includes Bruckner’s Symphony no 7.

Highlights of the 2014/15 season include both the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra (November 7, 2014 and February 11, 2015 respectively) in contrasting programmes of Russian music; the Philharmonia Orchestra on February 18 with Esa-Pekka Salonen’s project City of Light: Paris 1900-1950; and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra on April 23, 2015, conducted by Jiři Bělohlávek, and performing a programme of Smetana, Bruch, Vaughan Williams and Dvořák.

There are Anvil debuts for Adam Fischer, Martin Helmchen, Esther Yoo, Jacek Kaspszyk and Nicholas McGegan, and return visits by Vladimir Ashkenazy, Viktoria Mullova and Pierre-Laurent Aimard.

There is also a special concert by The Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus on May 21, 2015, performing Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9, to mark The Anvil’s 21st birthday.
