OVER 35 bands have already been announced for the line-up of Silkfest 2014.
This local music festival was founded by local man Jon Lovegrove in 2005 with a single day event headlined by Captain Everything and FireApple Red.
This year’s event, the seventh since Silkfest’s conception, takes place from April 17-20 and is presented by both Jon’s promotions company Rockbitch and Shani Saunders’ That Vibe.
Jon said: “It's become a tradition - every Easter we get loads of our friends together and put on a festival.
“It’s a mix of wicked locals, touring national and international bands and some surprises along the way. This year is no different.”
Each year, Silkfest supports a local charity. This year’s proceeds will go to St Michael’s Hospice.
Tickets cost just £5 per day or £12 for the whole weekend. Alternatively, pay just £8 for a weekend ticket (Saturday and Sunday).
Jon added: “Last year, we put nearly 40 bands on over the four days. This year, we've got plans for even more acts, over both floors at Sanctuary.”
