ALAN Williams, the lead vocalist/guitarist of '70s glam rock icons The Rubettes presents his solo tour Acoustically Yours in Basingstoke next month.
He will lead the audience through his musical life before, during and after his most successful years.
Having sold over 30 million records, he has a wealth of material to call upon together with many an anecdote to impart.
Alan Williams will be at Central Studio, QMC, on Thursday, April 17 at 8pm.
The Rubettes first swept to international stardom with their classic number one hit Sugar Baby Love, which also featured on the soundtrack of Muriel's Wedding. It established them as household names and with the hits that followed, their place in rock and roll history was assured.
Alan will be performing acoustic renditions of many Rubettes hits including Sugar Baby Love, Tonight, Juke Box Jive, and Baby I Know.
He will also tell many a tale about his journey from his humble beginnings to his success with The Rubettes, and beyond.
On the night, an acoustic guitar played and signed by Alan will be raffled. Proceeds will go to a local charity in the area.
Tickets priced £12 are available from the box office on 01256 418318 or go online to centralstudio.co.uk.
