BASINGSTOKE'S own boyband, Concept, are to headline in their first home town concert in early April.
Concept is an acoustic boy band consisting of five local boys aged between 18 and 19 with a passion for music and performing. They take their inspiration from five diverse musical genres, mixing R&B, hip-hop, soul, and rock & pop to create something distinct and unique with just guitar and vocals.
The group of friends have known each other since the age of five, and they started the band whilst at Queen Mary's College, Basingstoke.
They have gone from strength to strength and 2012 was simply a spectacular year for the boys with so many highlights including support performances for Example, Chase and Status, District 3, Marcus Collins, Diversity, Lawson, The Lovable Rogues, Stooshie, Ronan Parke and their good friends Twist & Pulse.
The band also finished runners up in the MTV’s Brand New For 2013 as well as appearing in OK magazine and Teen Now’s Christmas edition.
With over 56,000 followers on Twitter and with two single releases under their belt Concept are delighted to be headlining their own home town gig.
See Concept in The Haymarket on Friday, April 5. Tickets priced £8.50, £6.50 concessions, are available from 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk. The live performance begins at 7.30pm.
