IN response to the legacy of its LegoMania exhibition earlier this year, Milestones Museum is to launch new Lego minifigure swap sessions this month.

The museum's shop, at the front of the Leisure Park living history building, noticed the sustained popularity of the small articulated Lego figurines which played a key role in the exhibition's display. They also dealt with a number of enquiries from children about the possibility of swaps.

As a result, staff at Milestones decided to establish official swapping sessions on the last Thursday of every month, which will commence on Thursday, October 25. From 3.30pm until the close of the museum at 4.45pm, fans of the figures will be able to meet up and exchange their minifigures free of charge at a designated area in the shop and reception area. A special entry offer to the entire museum will also be in place only at this time, admitting one adult free with every paying child.

Deborah Bradford, retail and visitor services co-ordinator at Milestones said: “Milestones museum is really pleased to announce the launch of these Lego minifigure swapping sessions. We will have tables set up for the swap sessions so children can bring in their collections and swap away with each other to their heart's content!

"We have a great range of Lego available in the shop, including the limited edition of Olympic minifigures. Coming in very soon will be the exciting new Lord of the Rings and Hobbit ranges, as well as some of the incredibly popular Friends Heartlake City sets.”

The Museum has also recently confirmed the return of LegoMania in February 2013. Keep your eye on The Gazette for the latest news. To find out more about the swap sessions, call 01256 477766 or log on to milestones-museum.com.
