THE eye-popping Moscow State Circus brings its latest and most spectacular show to date to The Anvil, with five performances over three days from Thursday, February 9 to Saturday February 11.
A huge cast of Russia’s most talented circus artistes combine contemporary and classic circus in an original and stunning way.
This newly created show includes the beautiful queen of Russian circus Yana Alievia on a revolving aerial chandelier; the Whirlwind Rubsovs who acrobatically catapult themselves at breakneck speed across the stage; the gyrating, juggling Sherbakovs; and the hilarious trampoline capers of Professor Balakov. The show is loosely inspired by the story of The Twelve Chairs, which has inspired both Ealing comedies and a Mel Brooks film, in which a family’s jewellery, hidden in one of twelve chairs scattered all over Russia, has to be found.
Award-winning clowns Valik and Valerik lead the search and have the audience falling off their own seats with laughter
Parents need to be sure that their family outing is worth the money nowadays and Moscow State Circus won’t disappoint; there are discounts for children and also a specially priced family ticket. And it really is some of the most amazing circus you will ever see.
Full show information and booking details for this, and any other Anvil Arts show, is available from the box office on 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk.
