AUTHOR Cas Peace will launch the first book of her new fantasy trilogy in town on Saturday.
She’ll be reading from King's Envoy in Festival Place’s Porchester Square from 11.15am on Saturday, September 3, before moving to Basingstoke Discovery Centre to read and to sign copies from 12 noon until 3pm. There will be refreshments and live music so come and join the party!
Born and educated in Gosport, Cas has lived in Hampshire nearly all of her life and now resides in Upton Grey.
Her trilogy Artesans of Albia is a towering fantasy series charting the attempts of a fanatical Albian Baron to rid his realm of the Artesan craft he despises.
Encompassing treachery, betrayal, love, loyalty, mystery, pride and despair, Artesans is a fast-moving and sometimes emotional read.
Cas has always loved the fantasy genre and is an avid reader of intelligent and believable fantasy novels. She was delighted and excited when US publisher Rhemalda Publishing offered to publish King’s Envoy.
Cas said: “I am tremendously excited to finally see King’s Envoy in print. Reading the fabulous reviews the book has received so far and knowing that readers are enjoying my work is wonderfully uplifting.
“I always knew the series would be popular with fantasy readers, but what has surprised and delighted me are the many favourable comments I’ve also had from people who don’t normally read this genre.
“It seems I’ve managed to create characters that people care about, and I hope that readers who like this first book will want to follow these characters right through to the series’ gripping finale. The books are aimed at adult readers – anyone over the age of 15. I hope many readers will give it a try!”
