Dolly good!

FREE tickets to see Basingstoke Amateur Operatic Society’s (BAOS) upcoming show Hello Dolly! are up for grabs for some lucky Gazette readers.

March is fast approaching and members of BAOS are rehearsing hard to perfect their production of Hello Dolly! which will open at The Haymarket on March 9 and run for five days.

The musical, immortalised by Gene Kelly’s 1969 film adaptation starring Barbra Streisand in the lead role, is set in New York and follows the matchmaker and professional meddler Dolly Levi in her quest to marry Horace Vandergelder.

The show is a colourful spectacle full of songs and lively dance routines.

Tickets are priced from £12, with concessions available, and can be booked from Anvil Arts box office on 01256 844244 or online at anvilarts.org.uk and more information about BAOS can be found at baos.org.uk.

THE Gazette has two pairs of tickets to see Hello Dolly! on Wednesday, March 10, which are possibly up for grabs for readers who can answer this question: Q; Who played the part of Dolly in the 1969 film adaptation?

Winners will also receive a bag of Hello Dolly Mixtures provided by Ma Humbugs.

To be in with a chance of winning, either email your answer to lucie.richards@ basingstokegazette.co.uk or write to Lucie Richards, Gazette Newspapers, Gazette House, Pelton Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, RG21 6YD.

Please include an address and contact telephone number and get your entry in by February 11.

The winners will be picked at random from the correct entries and contacted shortly after.

The normal Newsquest rules apply for this competition.
