THE Rhythm Kings, featuring Beverley Skeete, plus special guest Otis Redding III appear at The Haymarket on Tuesday 26 June.

The Rhythm Kings are a highly respected band in their own right and, with the help of new member Greg Harewood on bass, they wow audiences with their bluesy, soulful take on songs and modern day numbers with some rock and roll crowd pleasers thrown in.

In 1996, Terry Taylor, Graham Broad, Beverley Skeete, Nick Payn, Frank Mead and later Geraint Watkins were asked to join an elite band. They toured the world backing a massive catalogue of top name artists and superstars. The fact that they are like a family is evident and this love transmits to the audience wherever they go, endearing people to come back time and time again.

They will be joined at The Haymarket by Otis Redding III.

Don’t miss Supersize Polyphony 360, featuring the Armonico Consort and The Choir of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, at The Anvil on Saturday 7 July. Supersize Polyphony 360 is a celebration of large-scale works from the 16th century, performed by the two choirs who encircle the audience, immersing them in 360 degree surround sound.

The evening’s programme features epic motets, such as Tallis' 40-part Spem in Alium and Striggio's Ecce Beatam Lucem, alongside his rarely performed 60 part Mass.

Interspersed with the serene beauty of ethereal chants by Hildegard of Bingen and other works from the period, this is an evening of magnitude and polyphonic drama that cannot be missed.

The Levellers (acoustic) are at The Anvil on Friday 13 July. Celebrating their 30th anniversary, Brighton folk-punk band The Levellers are on tour following the release of their acoustic album recorded at Abbey Road Studios with producer John Leckie.

Emerging victorious through the ups and downs of label deals, spats with the music press, and the wear and tear of touring, The Levellers are still going strong. They have long been, and still are, one of the best live bands around but often overlooked is their impressive back catalogue of recorded music.

The Levellers sold more platinum, gold, and silver albums in the 1990s than any other act.

They’ve had 7 Top 40 albums, including the number 1 album Zeitgeist and their platinum-selling 1991 album Levelling The Land, and a number of Top 40 singles including This Garden, Hope St, Just the One and What a Beautiful Day.
