BASINGSTOKE is getting ready to become filled with art for a month.

This year’s Basingstoke Festival revolves around the concept of discovering art in unusual places and now the official festival programme has been launched.

It is available to pick up from next week at the Willis Museum,;Basingstoke Discovery Centre; Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council offices reception; The Red Lion Hotel; The Tea Bar; Basing House; Milestones Museum; Tadley, Chineham, Overton and South Ham libraries; community centres at Viables. Hatch Warren, Beggarwood and Rooksdown; and Whitchurch Silk Mill Shop.

The programme will show information regarding all events and art installations.

As well as an abundance of free events, including the World Party returning to Eastrop Park on Saturday, 30 June there is also a range of unique performances taking place at various venues.

On Wednesday, 20 June at the Tea Bar, Lindsey Lawman and Stacy Hart present Juglife. The performance takes a light-hearted look at the trials and tribulations of breasts.

Elsewhere in Festival Place, the Stopgap Dance Company Presents Bill and Bobby.

After the success of last year’s Pictures in The Park, organisers have put on three films this year, with tickets for the showing of Grease in War Memorial Park already selling fast.

The Gazette has teamed up with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to give away two Love Basingstoke giant deckchair tickets for the Grease showing on Wednesday, 4 July.
