IF YOU wish to join a choir, Basingstoke is the place to be, writes Hannah Williams.

There is have at least 20 choirs in the town and they are all different. We are spoilt for choice.

Tune for Life is a very special group of singers/musicians who sing in 16 different languages.

Led by musician/singer Olya Elliott they leap from classical to cross-continental and Eastern European with music such as Kalinka, Hava Nagila, Bela Chao and most recently a Welsh folk-song.

Last year the group carried out 141 interactive music sessions in schools and nursing homes including St Michael’s Hospice and for community groups for people with life-changing conditions.

They work closely with Rotary clubs in the borough and the Disability Forum as well as the mayor’s charity panel.

Tune for Life is a non-profit community interest company, and if you wish to hear this international group of singers they will be performing a fundraising concert on Saturday, 20 January at Lychpit Community Hall.
