LIVE music, vibrant dance routines and laugh out loud comedy will all feature as the Basingstoke Gang Show returns.

For its 26th year, the shows cast will be made up of 67 children and young adults from Cubs, Scouts, Guides, Explorers and young leaders from around Basingstoke.

Established in 1980, the show now takes residents in the Haymarket every two years and over the years the standard of the show has risen to the position of being acknowledged as one of the best amateur shows in the country.

Basingstoke Gang Show is recognised as the longest running ‘family variety show’ in North Hampshire and showcases an extremely talented cast.

With 11 performances, many over half term week, audiences will be entertained with laughs, toe tapping music and sing alongs.

Each show will stimulate the senses with over 400 costumes and 16 acts in this modern and compelling family entertainment show.

Chairman of Basingstoke Gang Show, Steven Edney said: “The aim of Basingstoke Gang Show is ‘to enable the cast to reach their full potential, as they develop their self-confidence, self-discipline, teamwork and trust, as well as make friends for life through a truly amazing shared experience’.

“Whilst supporting the aims of the Scout and Guide Associations, Basingstoke Gang Show provides a great environment to nurture our young talent across the three districts of Basingstoke East, Basingstoke West and Silchester.”

As well as supporting the Scout and Guide Association, this year’s Gang Show will be raising money for Muffin's Dream Foundation, a charity which is dedicated to helping families with a child or young adult who has a disability or illness.

The 26th Gang Show will take up residence at the Haymarket theatre from Thursday, 8 February until Saturday, 17 February.

Tickets cost £19 for adults, £17 for concession and £13 for children.
