BASINGSTOKE’S The Sanctuary is inviting two of alternative music’s greats to its venue.

Former frontman of iconic post-hardcore American outfits Far, New End Original and Gratitude, singer Jonah Matranga is heading to the London Street venue to headline a night of emotive acoustic music from some of the south’s premier musicians.

The Massachusetts-born singer has built himself an incredible solo career with his 1998 album ‘Jonah’s One-line Drawing’ become one of that decade’s most principal acoustic rock releases.

For his show on Wednesday October 26, the songwriter will be joined by the likes of Helen Chambers, Nathan Harrison, Ryan Butterworth and Non Canon.

Tickets for the event are £9 adv with doors opening at 7pm.

Following this show, The Sanctuary are welcoming Defeater vocalist Derek Archambault’s side project ALCOA.

Having sprinkled acoustic and more folk inspired tracks on the last few Defeater albums, ALCOA is an outlet for Archambault to create wholly in this raw style.

Just like the impassioned passages of Defeater tracks before them, ALCOA generates an emotive and intimate environment whenever he performs.

Joining Archambault on Sunday November 6 will be Choir Vandals and ex-Attention Thieves frontman Alex Green. Tickets for this show are £8 adv with doors at 6pm.
