THERE is just one week to go until a major summer music festival is held in the borough, and there is still a chance to enjoy the action as a final batch of tickets have gone on sale.

If you missed out on snapping up one of the tickets for this year's CarFest South, being held at Laverstoke Park Farm over the August Bank Holiday weekend, organisers have released a handful of tickets for the Friday.

Music acts appearing on stage on the Friday include Jools Holland, ABC, Will Young, The Darkness, Texas and The Proclaimers, and there will also be a host of other entertainment including arena displays, parades of expensive cars and food stalls.

There is also still time to enter the Olympic-nic competition, announced by Chris Evans earlier this week.

The BBC Radio 2 DJ, who founded CarFest to raise money for BBC Children in Need, is inviting 50 families to take part in the contest to celebrate the success of Team GB at this year's games.

Entries close on Monday.
