THE Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines will entertain an audience at The Anvil in the New Year in a charity concert.

Hosted by The Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane, the band, which recently celebrated its 350th anniversary, will take centre stage on Sunday, January 31, 2016, performing an impressive and wide-ranging repertoire.

The concert will also feature The Royal Corps of Drums and a special guest appearance by The Chelsea Pensioners.

All profits from the event will go to charities supported by the Rotary club, including Help for Heroes and Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Paul Temple, president of Basingstoke Deane Rotary Club, said: "This is always a very popular annual concert, and with good reason.

"My fellow Rotarians and I are delighted that The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines are returning to The Anvil, and we are all looking forward to another truly outstanding concert which will deliver a welcome boost to some very good causes.

"Tickets for the concert are on sale now, and they would make an ideal Christmas or birthday present for someone special."

Merv Rees, Ark Cancer Centre Charity trustee, said: "I am very grateful to the Basingstoke Deane Rotarians for choosing Ark Cancer Centre Charity as one of the good causes that will benefit from the 2016 concert. This is a very welcome, and significant, show of support."
