AN exhibition of the work of Nicholas Beer will open at Sherfield Gallery towards the end of this month.

The show will also include the work of his students from the Sarum Studio – Atelier of Fine Art.

Nicholas has been the senior instructor for over 20 years in Florence, Italy with the Charles H Cecil Studio, one of the three most prestigious painting studios in Europe.

As a portrait and figurative artist he has exhibited widely and received commissions from Europe and the United States.

The lineage of his training can be traced back through Cecil and his teacher, RH Ives Gammell, through to the Boston and British Schools and back to the 17th Century Dutch and Italian painters.

This exhibition will run in the gallery, which is located at Sherfield School, from September 28 until October 23.

The gallery has also announced that submissions are now invited for the Sherfield 2016 Open Exhibition. Send them through until November 27.
