RCIHARD E. Grant will be swapping Hollywood for Henley next month, as a late addition to the town’s literary festival.

The actor, who recently joined the cast of Game of Thrones, will be appearing at the Henley Literary Festival on Saturday October 3 at 7pm.

He will discuss the Picador Classic edition of his acclaimed book of film diaries With Nails, which features a foreword by Steve Martin.

Since his breakthrough in Withnail & I, Grant has worked with directors Francis Ford Coppola, Robert Altman and Martin Scorsese and starred alongside everyone from Meryl Streep to the Spice Girls.

More recently he appeared in Downton Abbey and launched his own unisex perfume.

The event, at Henley’s Christ Church Centre, will be chaired by Loose Women presenter and journalist Jane Moore.

It will be followed at 9pm by another recent addition to the line-up, a tribute to the late Reginald Perrin creator David Nobbs with Barry Cryer, Jonathan Coe and Eleanor Bron.

Grant joins a line-up for the September 28 – October 4 festival that features over 100 events for adults and children including Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell, singer Tracey Thorn, Hugless Douglas, Green MP Caroline Lucas and Ben Fogle.

Programming director Tom Ryan said: “I’m delighted that Richard E. Grant is able to join our line-up of speakers from stage and screen, joining Barry Cryer, Pam St Clement, Brian Blessed and Virginia McKenna.”
