LOCAL artists from Creative Xpressions will showcase their abilities in town next month.

Their exhibition, entitled Personal Journeys, can be seen in the Proteus Creation Space, Council Road, from April 6-24.

The featured artists include Paul Dane, Mak Leonardi, Terry Joslin, John Rae, Karen Callow, Alice Zourdani, Fiona Pugh and Yvonne D’Souza.

Creative Xpressions began in 2012, founded by Paul Dane.

Its aims are to bring together artists and creatives from a wide range of disciplines to share skills, interact socially and motivate each other.

Basingstoke Gazette:
Members of the group have included writers, musicians, sculptors, visual artists, carpenters, film makers and photographers.

The group fosters self-belief, promotes artistic identity and supports the journey of each creative in achieving their aspirations. Through the sharing of skills, support and feedback, work is developed to a professional standard.

Workshops have enabled members to share skills and broaden their styles. Some creatives with strong skills learn to relax their style and add more emotion. Those with emotion learn to improve their technical skills.

The group acts as a spring board, builds confidence, is non-judgemental and encourages participation in local exhibitions, of which there have been several leading onto solo exhibitions and a new direction for some.
