LOCAL author Mike Hollow is to launch his new book at a Waterstones event.

Meet Mike in the Festival Place bookshop on Friday, March 20 from 7pm when he’ll discuss and sign his new historical crime fiction novel, Direct Hit (The Blitz Detective). The novel will be released by Lion Fiction on that date.

This detective story is set in the East End of London in September 1940, just as the Blitz is starting.

Basingstoke Gazette:

Mike Hollow was born in West Ham and grew up in Romford, Essex. He studied Russian and French at Cambridge and then worked for the BBC and later Tearfund.

In 2002 he went freelance as a copywriter, journalist and editor. Nowadays, a published poet, he makes his living as a translator.

A father-of-two, Mike has lived in Basingstoke since 1975.

He said: “The idea is that this book should be the first of the ‘Blitz Detective’ series, featuring the same detective hero, so I’m currently developing the plot for the second.”
