CHRIS Elmer will visit Basingstoke Discovery Centre early next month to talk about the Basing House site.
The site is noted for its rich archaeology, with finds and structures dating from many time periods.
The main ringwork and bailey were built during the Norman period, but it is most famous for the grand Tudor Palace.
It then became the site of several Civil War period sieges one hundred years later.
Chris, a researcher from the University of Southampton, will provide an insight into the fascinating history of the site and talk about the recent excavations conducted there.
The talk will take place on Tuesday, February 3 at 2pm.
Tickets cost £3.
