FANCY attending an alternative Christmas event?
Head to Butser Ancient Farm on Friday, December 19 when two family events will take place.
All children receive a gift to take home and are able to have a go at some natural crafts.
Tickets for each event cost £10 per child (includes 1 adult, additional adults pay normal entrance price). Booking is essential.
Saturnalia
‘The Roman Christmas Celebration’ – head to the Roman Villa for some very special family time. Discover how the Romans celebrated Saturnalia, with the giving of gifts, lighting of candles, a procession and the awakening of a Roman God.
There are two sessions available, either 1pm or 2pm.
Tales of Winter Magic
Red Phoenix makes her annual appearance. Listen to Winter Solstice tales around the fire in the Grand Roundhouse with a hot chocolate and some festive singing. You might even be crowned the Winter King!
Arrive from 3.30pm to create your craft. Storytelling begins at 4pm.
