WANT to find out more about a soldier in your family?
Basingstoke Discovery Centre will be running a Tracing Army Ancestors workshop on Saturday, September 27 at 10am.
This workshop will reveal the many types of record which throw light on the careers of soldier ancestors, including those at the National Archives in Hampshire Archives and Local Studies, and in regimental archives.
It is aimed at beginners and those who may have done a little research. You will have the chance to see copies of sample documents from 19th and 20th centuries.
Booking your place in advance is essential as these workshops have limited space. Tickets are £10.
