There is no need to book - just turn up, although you’ll need to be early to get a seat! Once all the seats are taken the room is at full capacity.

Thursday, August 7 – Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

Based on Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom chronicles Nelson Mandela’s life from his childhood in a rural village to his inauguration as president of South Africa. Taking an unflinching look at his politics, his relationships and his time in prison, this film was highly praised by critics around the world. Idris Elba puts in a marvellous performance and fellow Brit and bond girl Naomie Harris is fantastic as Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

Thursday, August 21 – The Railway Man

Colin Firth plays Eric Lomax, a British officer who was captured by Japanese soldiers during WWII and sent to a POW camp, where he was forced to work on the Thai-Burma Railway under terrible conditions. During his time in the camp, Lomax is tortured and his brutal experiences haunt him for decades afterwards.

Years later, with the support of his wife Patti (Nicole Kidman) Lomax decides to track down those responsible for his imprisonment and find either peace or vengeance. Based on a true story, this is an understated and emotional historical drama.

Thursday, September 4 – American Hustle

A conman is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, who pushes him into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and the Mafia. This Oscar-nominated film stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
