ARTISTS across the county are once again opening their doors to the public for a popular annual event.

Hampshire Open Studios, which takes place this year from August 16- 25, features a wide range of local creatives and their galleries, potteries, jewellery workshops and much more.

The huge variety of featured artists range from first time exhibitors to emerging newcomers and well known professionals.

Yew Trees Art Studio

Aileen Mayers

Japanese Saki-Ori and pottery by Toku and Sei Oguchi

Basingstoke Gazette:

Toku Oguchi makes hand crafted pottery which keeps some traditional Japanese style yet is embraces new forms. Some porcelains and potteries will be exhibited. 'Saki-ori' (Saki meaning split and Ori meaning weaving) is a traditional Japanese technique of weaving involving splitting old silk kimonos into strips and weaving them back into a unique textile. Sei Oguchi will exhibit how to weave it. Contact: 01256 893157.
