IN 1811, cloth manufacturer John Coxeter of Greenham Mill, Newbury, completed the whole process of making a splendid hunting coat in a single day - from shearing the sheep to wearing the finished garment.
This was for a wager. In 1991 the Kennet Valley Guild and Friends re-enacted this remarkable feat using old methods.
Jan Blight will tell the story at the next talk to be presented by the Friends of the Willis Museum.
This will take place at the museum on Thursday, June 19 at 7.30pm.
Admission is free to Friends of the Willis and costs £2 for visitors.
