Bows and Blooms Cupcake Decorating Workshop

Learn the skills to make four different high quality designs (suitable for weddings or anniversaries) in a fun and professional environment with local bakers ‘Sugartown Cupcakes’. Crochet for the Home and Garden

Jane Austen’s Guide to Writing

Two Jane Austen events with author Rebecca Smith who was the Writer in Residence at Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton; she has published three of her own novels through Bloomsbury.

For Readers and Writers: A light-hearted and practical look at Austen’s methods and timeless style. Saturday, June 14 at 10am, £4.

Workshop: Following on from the talk, this workshop will give you the opportunity to try out some of the methods Jane Austen used to introduce and establish characters and to create the worlds of her novels. Saturday, June 14 from 11.30am to 1.30pm, £12.

Crochet Squares: A three week course

Inside Film Classification with the BBFC

Usually only film studies get access to the BBFC, but anyone interested in seeing how the films are awarded their ‘age ratings’ can attend this session, with clips, conundrums and controversy set to reveal the history of the British Board of Film Classification. Wed 18 June at 2pm. £3. 

Myths and Mysteries of the First World War
