THE impressive LEGO model mammoth, part of the Lost World Zoo at Milestones Museum, is now complete.

Standing some eight feet (2.5m) high, it took around 250,000 LEGO bricks and six weeks to build.

Louise Mackay, commercial activities manager at Milestones said: “Building the model was a mammoth task for the Bright Bricks team in all senses of the word.

"Visitors to the museum have been very impressed and amazed by its size and we have had some excellent feedback on the event as a whole."

The Lost World Zoo continues at Milestones Museum, at the Leisure Park in Basingstoke, until April 27.

Milestones Museum is open from Tuesday to Friday 10am until 4.45pm, and weekends from 11am, with last entry at 3.45pm.

The LEGO Lost World Zoo exhibition includes fossil hunt fun sessions (pre-booking is essential), Minifigure making (additional fee applies) and interactive sessions (pre-booking is essential).
