THE Mayor and Mayoress of Basingstoke and Deane, Councillor Dan Putty and his wife Julie, were present for the opening of the first Sebastian’s Action Trust (SAT) art exhibition.

The exhibition, which displays canvases painted by the children and families who are supported by the Trust, is currently on show upstairs in the Willis Museum, Market Place.

There are also a collection of canvases in the exhibition which have been created by the groups of children who attend art therapy sessions at SAT, which is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.

Councillor Putty commented: “It is a truly beautiful collection of ‘art from the heart’.”

Exhibitors Lyndsay and Toby Dobson, Bella Hall-Cooper, Maisie Griffith and Bradley Holton were amongst the guests who came along to see the exhibition’s official opening.

Sebastian’s Action Trust CEO Jane Gates said: “This is a wonderful collection of beautiful art which is painted with passion.

“We are very excited about our tenth anniversary and this wonderful collection shows just how important the Trust has become to so many families with children who have life-limiting or serious illnesses.”

The exhibition runs until May 5. Entrance is free.
