CONGRATULATIONS to local director, Fraught Productions’ Geoff Harmer, who added a number of high profile screenings and awards to his list of successes in 2013.

Geoff’s feature film Addict was screened in Poland as part of the Full Length Festival Kinoteatr Projekt, and his short film 8 Ball, which was directed for Pork Chop Pictures, was screened at the Bath Film Festival at the beginning of December.

In addition, the short film Karen’s Room, which was screened to great acclaim at a previous Red Carpet Screenings film festival in Central Studio, has been screened at five festivals in the last two months, winning major awards at two of them.

Geoff, who lives in Black Dam, added: “We won the Teign Cup at the 38th Teign Cup Film Festival in Devon. I have a huge trophy in my front room now!

“Recently, we also won the Best Non-Professional (Author) Film at the NOFI World Festival in Los Angeles, so we’re on a bit of a roll!”

Karen’s Room is now online for viewing. Watch it and find out more at fraught.net.

*The next Red Carpet Screenings Film Festival takes place on January 25 in Central Studio, on the QMC campus.
